School Lunch project

Many children in Suriname go to school with hunger. In an effort to better school attendance and students their grades we have initiated a school lunches project on February 6th 2023. 9 schools are visited each day and are provided with 400 freshly made sandwiches. Students and teachers are involved in this project that has also resulted in other joint projects that stimulate reading, writing, teamwork and storytelling.

Homeless Meals

In Paramaribo alone there are an estimate of 1000 homeless people. Up to date there is no government organization that is well equipped enough to provide the homeless with proper nutrition and meals. In cooperation with the district commissioner we set up a daily meal provision on June 11th 2021 for approximately 200 homeless people. Some meals are also delivered to orphanages and other individuals living in poverty.

Adopted Families

Yoko Yepi had adopted 200 families. These families have been receiving financial aid on a monthly basis since June 2020. The financial assistance is brought to them each month seeing as how many of these people are illiterate, immobile and do not have a bank account. The individuals, families and or institutions are also visited each month to check on their well being. Whenever there is a change in their living conditions we increase, decrease or adjust their aid.
The persons that are eligible for this type of assistance are the elderly, chronically ill people, orphans, people with a disability, single mothers and terminally ill people.
